I almost didn't finish this one as it was wildly overdue at the library and the whole insect war thing turned me off a bit at first. But I'm really glad I kept going! Epic wars are not usually my thing. Insects definitely aren't my thing. 10 book series are intimidating. And yet... it was just soo addictive. I couldn't put it down and zipped through 600 pages in less than a week. The world building was extraordinary and so unique! Humanised races based on insects... he has near limitless source material and has built an intricate and detailed world peopled with all kinds of insect beings terrorised by the evil wasp imperialists. I'm hooked and want to know more! (Dark, moody, enigmatic Acheaos the Moth is my favourite. What a surprise lol).
