The Wave
by Todd Strasser
I don't remember what grade I was in, but it was definitely pre-high school. We watched the movie of this, probably a TV movie. And I remember being utterly horrified by it, and it's always stuck with me.
Never read the book, though.
3/13 - The book was pretty much exactly as I remembered the movie to be. Still a very good story, 10+ years after the first time I watched it.
The writing isn't the best, but it reminds me of the throw-away books I read when I was younger, it appeals to a younger reader. I don't fault the book for that.
A very interesting story, and very telling. I think most junior high/high school students should read it. Even the ones who think it couldn't happen to them.
