<i>"I didn't want to love you like this. It's the worst idea in the world that I love you like this. But I can't stop. Believe me, I tried."</i>

leave it to Cassandra Clare to write the most complicated, convoluted, forbidden love story. and to me to eat it UP. I loved this. I loved coming back to the shadowhunter world after so long and feeling like I was back in my teens, reading about Jace and Clary, Will, Jem and Tessa in every spare minute I had.
their appearances in this books made me tear up for real, especially any little mention of William Herondale my beloved.
I LOVED Cassandra Clare's writing, I truly didn’t remember it being SO good and it was incredible. I loved the magic, the mystery, I loved the humor and the YEARS-LONG LORE you have to know in order to understand this book, it felt nice to be in the loop idk

now, the important stuff: the never-ending YEARNING??? inject that in my veins actually. pining jail was at capacity, not one single character was found innocent, I'm afraid. and I was in there having the time of MY LIFE. Cassandra Clare thank you so much for the SUFFERING. I had a blast crying my eyes out in one chapter and giggling in the next. Julian, Emma and Mark are my children and they deserve happiness and I'm in the deepest well of mysery but also how fun!!

idk if I've successfully delivered the message I wanted with this review but basically this was amazing and I wish I read it sooner and I want to read all words ever written by Cassandra Clare and I'm thinking in book 2 I need more yearning and maybe then we expand into longing, want and craving even
