Maybe it's because I am in the mental health field, but this shit was so inaccurate? I understand that the psychiatric rehab center is supposed to be "unorthodox" but females/males sharing rooms and showers, encouraging the patients to have sex with each other or go into town to go to the bar or tattoo parlor? Where there is constant self-harm and suicide attempts? The FMC's brother also just calls her doctor and asks her to be put on sleeping medication and the doctor just does it the very same day. No assessment just vibes <3
At this point, it was like an adult summer camp with the occasional group therapy session where rich people just said that they hate the mundanities of life. Yes, going to work and grocery shopping sucks, but that is not typically the reason for extreme suicidality. Don't forget when the MMC came to the hospital and pretended to be a nurse to meet the FMC, after hearing the nurses and doctors talking about her at the psych rehab center where he is a patient? He just left for the day to pretend to be a nurse and came back just in time to be assigned as her roommate.
