The Hundred Years' War on Palestine by Rashid Khalidi

challenging informative slow-paced

5.0

This was a difficult read. Its text is dense and subject is heavy. And reading about past atrocities in Palestine while atrocities happen there now is chilling. But it’s only deepened my belief in the struggle for freedom by Palestinians. It views Palestine as a complex society responding to imperialism and focuses on how people from all across their society thought about national identity, international politics, and resistance. It also makes clear that for decades nothing that happened to the Palestinian people happened without the approval of the US government.
