Two women meet when they’re celebrating their birthdays at the same venue. It turns out they were born on the same day 40+ years ago. Their lives entwine as one interviews the other for a podcast.

There are two wives, two husbands, and four children in this book (two now adults and two still young kids), and all of them but the actual children get some interesting depth to their characters. There are also two narrators (the two women), plus footage from the documentary that later emerges from the whole story. All of this comes together in a way that leaves the reader off-balance, wondering who is telling the truth and who is really “bad” or “good.” It turns out that nothing is straightforward.
