This book is a whirlwind from start to (devastating)end. I enjoyed the island adventure vibes mixed in wih magic. I did feel that the a lot of the plot of story was all over but once Grayson takes Rowenya to help find the treasure, the of the story becomes theirs. Grayson, the MMC, is dark, possesive pirate lord with his own Code and takes what he wants and decides it is the dark headed beauty. Rowenya is fiesty MFC that's quick witted, brave fights back at every opportunity and best of all, she's older in her 30s. The rival to lovers was an enjoyable, slow burn chemistry that ignited in the best way possible.
Back to the ending-what!!!! The author left us with so many questions and a cliffhanger at that as a reader smacks you in the face like a wet fish, leaving you thinking what just happened. A great lead up for book !
