The Forever Summer by Jamie Brenner

4.0

Marin's life is falling apart from her relationship status to her law career, and now a woman contacts her claiming that she's her long-lost half-sister. What else could go wrong? With nothing left to lose, she embarks on a road trip with said sister to uncover the truth.

The book takes many twists and turns and introduces us to a group of characters who may or may not be family members. What secrets could they all be hiding? You'll find out amid the lively beach resort of Provincetown, Massachusetts.

In this novel, you'll discover plenty of romance, never-before divulged secrets, and tragic scenarios. The stories are not stunning, but they'll keep you engaged and entertained while you're vacationing at the beach or just sunning yourself in the backyard.

It's a quick read with characters you'll like and occasionally get frustrated with. Of course, some storylines seem a little far-fetched, but it's the nature of the beach read, so just take it for what it is. It's fun and set in an exciting beach locale that will make you long for summer, especially since summer right now is coming to a definite end.

If you need a non-serious beach read with drama and romance, pick this up for a little pick-me-up.
