The Lost Steersman by Rosemary Kirstein

4.0

Oh man. I can't put this series down. I actually did not initially WANT a book all about 'demons'--but my growing suspicions about where all this worldbuilding was going were confirmed over and over. Oh man, oh man, what's going to happen in the next book?

Lots of whump for Rowan in this one, and pining for Bel. I loved Steffie and could see early on that he would make a great steersman. Zenna was awesome, too (the book party! hee) and the people of Alemeth soon became favourites. I simply adore the steerswoman outlook, and how Rowan's logic gets her to very much the same place as the reader's, reasoning from a very different beginning. Basically, this series continues to be tailored directly to my id. Needs more Bel though...which I hear happens next book, so yay!
