Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen

4.0

After Pride and Prejudice, I like this book best of Austen's, and I've just reread the big six, so I'm quite fresh on the oeuvre. The main characters of this novel, to my mind, the most well-rounded outside of Pride and Prejudice, although the mean characters are very flat and mean almost beyond belief. This novel also lacks the witty commentary that the narrator of Pride and Prejudice dishes up and which makes the flat characters more palatable. Still, this is well-plotted and in this, as opposed to several of the others about whose main characters I cannot really care, I am happy for the characters when they get their happy ending.

Re-read prior to a visit to England. I stand by the review I wrote the last time I read it.
