All Better Now
by Neal Shusterman
reflective
slow-paced
For as much as I love Shusterman, I thought this book was just okay. The premise is stellar; it's the only idea that would make me pick up a pandemic book. But I feel like the summary promises a lot of conversation around both sides of the issue, and who we are if we can't take the negative with the positive, and what it takes for capitalism to endure, and instead it was mostly a deep dive into why recoverees weren't really better people, in the end . It just lacked a lot of nuance for me—which is why I come to Shusterman books in the first place.
I just learned this is going to be a duology? Not sure if that will be better or worse for the story, but I am curious.
