The Push by Ashley Audrain

I was immensely intrigued by this writing style! I love the raw, authentic, almost taboo, discussion about motherhood. I could write a paper on it.

I also enjoyed the separate timelines between Blythe, her childhood, and the perspective of her mother’s childhood and coming of age. It was all so heart breaking. But truly helped progress the storyline and helped the reader to understand maybe WHY Blythe is the way she is. Generational trauma being portrayed in the ugly way that is is.

However, the last page turned this into a 4 star for me. Seemed unnecessary. Still, a great read for a debut!!!!
