Okay, this book is objectively bad. However, I was having a good time. Very ya coded - the characters were crushing and fantasizing about each other after barely speaking. Elias is somehow this super tough warrior with soft heart yet he whines that his bff dares be mad at him for too long after her threatened to tell her secret that could result in her execution. The brutality and cruelty in the world wasn't justified nor did it make sense, more of a plot device? Overall I had issues with it but there are some cool threads woven through that I'm looking forward to seeing how they turn out.
