This book is a little gem as it is very well written with many intertwining story lines. There are, after all, 5 children's stories to be told and then the overarching story that the family has been given notice and needs to find a new home just before Christmas.
It can be said that the story is somewhat sugar coated as there is a happy outcome for all and this certainly does not represent the experience of many children whose parents are evicted.
However, the sibling dynamics and each of the children in themselves are so very well crafted, it was a joy to live through this story with them and see how they evolve and learn and grow up.
