Every Other Day by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

3.0

Did I like this one as much as JLB’s Raised by Wolves series? No. BUT! It was still a really awesome and fun book to read!

Things that I really like about this book:

1. Kali.
The girl is a kick-butt heroine. I mean she is the one that saves the day! There is no damsel in distress here! I love how JLB writes these characters. They are confident, yet at the same time vulnerable. How does she do that?!

2. Bethany and Skylar… really all of the characters for that matter.
I figured that I would hate Bethany. She’s your typical snotty cheerleader… or is she? I don’t know if I was supposed to like her character, but I did. She really surprised me, I wouldn’t use the word typical to describe her at all. And Skylar. That girl is something else. She’s that girl that I wish I could have been in high school. I mean, anyone who can take being labeled as the school slut and be so non-chalant about it, is my hero!

3. The story.
How cool is the whole every-other-day concept. I mean it’s so simple, yet it’s so genius!

I felt like I left this story with a lot more questions than I began with, but I’m hoping that will be addressed in future books. Assuming there will be future books. And the ending moved a little too fast for me and sort of fizzled out, but the very last pages DEFINITELY sucked me right back in.

Can’t wait for more!
