The Maze Cutter by James Dashner

3.0

Set 70-ish years after the events of the Death Cure, The Maze Cutter failed to recapture my nostalgia for the original trilogy owing to its almost complete lack of surviving original characters.

There were soooo many new characters and factions introduced here that it was difficult to keep them straight, and I also struggled to connect with any of them. We really don’t know much about anybody except for the orphan and a young blacksmith.

Minho 2.0’s story is probably the most interesting, but I’m unsure whether I care enough to read on about the orphans and the Godhead.
