This book was achingly beautiful and also deeply moving. Although a work of fiction, it forces the reader to consider how the events that form our lives inevitably change us and shape us into the people we are. It also allows space to show that how we grow from these events may not always be in the same direction or way of those we were once closest to. I loved this book but it is gutting and I think it will stay with me for a long time.
