I'm so glad I stumbled across this book! I've been looking for something that will appeal to my reluctant boy readers who devoured The Crossover and want something similar. Although there are no sports in this book, the main character, Timothy, has to keep a court-ordered journal while on house arrest for stealing money (for his brother's expensive medicine due to a medical condition), and he writes it in verse. I think readers will appreciate the honesty in Timmy's narration. There are moments of hilarity right next to moments of tenderness (I nearly cried towards the end). I didn't love the ending, but I see why she did it. Can't wait to book talk this when I get back to school.
