I love the art style in this! It’s so detailed and unique with the color palette. I also love Freddy’s friends, they are so sweet and caring. This is such an important story. I flew through this because I enjoyed it so much, the art is so cool and I like how it depicts that a relationship like this happens and that it’s really hard to deal with. I don’t think I’ve read anything in a long time that really shows how hard it can be to be emotionally tossed around by someone. I like that the author wanted to represent this and that you can get out of it. Freddy’s friends were all so sweet and I was rooting for her the whole time to realize how great they are and how shitty Laura Dean is. This was such a good story about friendship, difficult relationships, and doing what you want and trying to be a better friend. I loved the ending and how Freddy grew and wanted to prioritize her friends. I loved all of the characters in this (except for Laura Dean obviously) they were all so unique and nice. I loved the drawings in this so much and want to reread it already. I also want to read more books from this author and illustrator! I love this book, I think it’s so nice that a story like this is being told. It makes me feel less alone that others also go through being broken up with multiple times by the same person but still choosing to be with them and what that’s like, and how you can grow and get away from that. I hope the author writes more books like this.
