Rot & Ruin
by Jonathan Maberry
This adventure through a post-apocalyptic Zombie wasteland had me hooked from the first line:
"Benny Imura couldn't hold a job, so he took to killing."
Benny learns the trade of bounty hunting in the lawless Rot & Ruin from his older brother, Tom. The evolution of their relationship was one of my favorite things about this novel, along with the fast pace and action-packed chapters. There's a few things I could have done without, such as Tom's infallibility and the whole zombies aren't the bad guys cliche. Overall though this looks like it's shaping up to be a solid series and I can't wait to read the next one!
