The Witches' Blade by A.K. Mulford

3.0

I had the same issues with this one as I did the first. I absolutely did not connect with Rua at all. I struggled to even like her for most of the story.

I did, however, connect with Renwick way more than I did with Hale. I really like his history and his story, and to be quite honest, I think if I would have had some chapters from his pov, this book would have worked a lot better for me.

Rua's character did have a lot of growth and as the book continued she did redeem herself to me quite a bit and I ended the book not hating her nearly as much as I did in the first two thirds.

I appreciated their romance a lot more than I did Remy and Hale's. I can't pinpoint why exactly. Maybe it's purely because I liked Renwick more, but it didn't feel quite as forced or fake.

The returning characters also made me happy. I struggle with book series that tend to move on from book to book, so it is nice to have some familiar faces in with all the new.

Overall, I enjoyed this one more than the first, but really, I just liked Renwick’s story, and I kinda wish there was more of him.
