The Exiled Queen by Cinda Williams Chima

4.0

Solid 4.5 stars.
I thoroughly enjoyed it. Nothing particularly life-altering but it was a well written and very engaging sequel to a story I was already very committed to after book one.
Since it’s YA and it’s not new, I appreciate all the shades of grey in the cast of characters all the more.
This is how it’s done @ authors attempting to write YA high fantasy that doesn’t skirt the issue with all the political aspects. There’s rarely an easy way out and I love that Chima seems very much aware of it.
Han as the male MC? One of the best and if I’d read it at a younger age, I would have been even more all over that.
