Dune by Frank Herbert

5.0

Without a doubt one of the best books that I have ever read. There is so much depth in Frank Herbert's world of Dune that it is hard to put it into just one review. It is clear that Herbert spent many years and years masterfully orchestrating this classic. Paul Atreides has become one of my favorite book characters of all time. He is a child that is thrown into this horrible situation with his family and his enemies and rises to the occasion and does what needs to be done to come out on top. I love how Paul is also not a perfect character by any means. He is very flawed and often makes bad decisions that he feels are good at the time of deciding them. (Semi spoiler) The way he is able to rally all of the Fremen to fight behind him to reclaim what is his and put his family back together is astounding. This is not a perfect book but if you love sci-fi/fantasy then this is an absolute must read for you. It is an award winning classic and deserves 5 stars without question.
