Tokyo Mew Mew seemed to really master the magical girl genre. While Sailor Moon created it, Tokyo Mew Mew made it what it is today. The combination of the silliness of the genre with the seriousness of an actual threat like climate change and animal extinction is a wonderful combination to see.
