This is not a book that I felt only one way about as I read it! My feelings were pretty continuously shifting over the course of the novel, and I found myself at times deeply unsettled, apprehensive, empathetic, disgusted, and uncertain - to name just a few. There was a moment when I considered stopping and looking up the synopsis to spare myself the convoluted emotions, but I’m glad that I saw it through; I think the book does its subject matter justice in the end, and left me feeling far more settled than I anticipated. Definitely haven’t read another book quite like it before.
