When you're given an opportunity to change your life, be ready to do whatever it takes to make it happen. The world doesn't give you things, you take things. If you learn one thing from me, it should probably be that.
I did not expect this book or story to move me that much, but it did, hard. Taylor Jenkins Reid has this way of pulling you into her stories and capturing you in them. As many have said before, her characters feel SO real ( I literally had to stop myself from googling some names up). I think the main reason why they feel so real is that they are so undeniably human. Evelyn Hugo felt like a mentor to me, me who desperately wants to be someone in this big world. She made me realize that making mistakes, regretting things, not regretting things, people hating you, and loving you are what makes you human. You shouldn't feel the need to run away or hide from those aspects of life. You should never have to apologize for putting yourself first sometimes. She opened my eyes to the meaning of love and also the meaning of success. I can even say that I now feel very different about my wanting to "be someone" in this world because what I didn't know before reading this book, is that I already am someone. And being someone does not mean to be famous or to be admired. It is to go through life unapologetically, make memories and love unconditionally.
