This was a pretty good story involving Tarkin, Vader, and the Emperor as the main focus. You don't often get too many stories where there is a good look into the secret life of the emperor. This book came out at a pivotal time, because of the switch to the new timeline. I think it was probably written before the switch, but came out after, so it is part of the new EU. It's interesting because it seems to reference some of the older stories, even though they are now defunct. Either way, it's a pretty entertaining read.
