Wild Things
by Laura Kay
This book was the perfect way to kick off my personal Summer reading challenge.
I really loved the characters, including El!! I actually felt like El was very relatable and I grew very fond of her. I loved the three other characters who make up the Commune : William was the sweetest straight man and even got me rooting for him (that’s rare), Ray sounded so interesting and like a great friend (although she was really a clueless LI for too long) and Jamie…. JAMIE!!! I laughed at so many of the things he did and said and I wanted him to be real so we could be friends.
I also loved the side stories with Rozalia and Lisa, Rob and Polly, El’s parents (including Bernard!!) and even Mona!! It’s almost like i wanted to jump into the book and be a part of their world. Don’t even get me started on the people from the village, especially sweet Sally! Seriously loved the characters the author created, they all felt like a warm hug.
I feel like more than romance, this book is about friendship and finding your place in the world when you’re stuck in a rut. It was a lovely read and I would absolutely recommend it!!
