This novel......... Baldwin offers such a fascinating exploration of what it means to love and desire. David, the main character, struggles throughout to understand lust and love and what he truly feels for Giovanni and Hella. It offered such a complex exploration of gender and sexuality, and I feel like I could read this again and again and find new things to think about. This is the first time I've read a novel by Baldwin, and I can immediately understand why he's such an acclaimed writer.
