Under the Dome by Stephen King

5.0

I was hesitant, to say the least, when deciding to start reading this book. I was, of course, taken back by its size (a refer to it as a "brick-house of a book"). I purchased this monster when it was first released, but never read it until now. I decided to read it because of the upcoming CBS television adaptation, which I am leery about, because of the level of "graphic-ness" the book has, and I know that the network is bound to edit things out (and change a lot of things, unfortunately). But hopefully it will still be good. As for the book, I was actually very surprised by most, if not all, of the events that occurred throughout the book. I wasn't expecting so much of the things that happened, but I was very pleased with them. It was almost like a sci-fi version of a soap opera with all of the deceit, blackmail, murder, etc. I'm ALL about that, though. So, all-in-all, I thoroughly enjoyed this brick-house of a book. If it wasn't so good, I wouldn't have finished it in record time, under a week. I'm pleased with myself, as well as the book as a whole. I highly recommend it!
