Overall it was a wholesome read. I wouldn't categorize it as horror.
I really enjoyed this book and honestly overlooked a lot of problematic issues. As much as I enjoyed Sophie were never told her background and why she was feared in town besides being a witch. We never get Oscar's side of the story. Annie whined about her issues and essentially Sophie became her new obsession.I see where she helped her but she also wasn't the greatest friend either and it was quiet unhealthy and their was a power dynamic involved until Sophie came until her own.
Annie kept wondering if she was just oblivious and yes I feel she is definitely in her relationship and in her friendship.
I still enjoyed the read and was hopefuly and felt that it was wrapped up neatly but could've dug deeper as well.
