I was waiting for this book like you wait for the sun in the middle of winter. Deepak and Veera caught my eye ever since they met over whisky during the unfolding of their best friends’ love story. Friends-to-lovers is always a sure trope for me, and I was dying to see how the trilogy would conclude.

I can’t say I didn’t enjoy the read, but I had such high hopes for it that it felt a bit flat at times.
The tension and the build-up were great, but the sex scenes felt kind of out of place compared to the plot.
Also, the second half drags a bit with too much focus on the vote. Like, we get it, their father is an A-hole who’s afraid of his daughters’ potential. Just let the takeover happen and let everybody be happy!

In any case, this was a light novel to unwind with after a long day.
