Solidly enjoyable and excellent prose, but the sheer amount of false endings did me in. That and

Caitlyn and Eli's relationship / Caitlyn's character in general. Caitlyn as a character feels very incomplete, and wtf is that ending.

I might be judging it harshly because I read All Our Shimmering Skies first and found that addresses most issues I had with this book / Dalton's writing style.
