Takedown Twenty by Janet Evanovich
4.0

Stephanie Plum is a bounty hunter, but not a very good one. She is awkward, desperate, and broke.

Her sidekick is a chubby former prostitute who likes chicken wings and spandex.

Her outspoken and widowed grandma is very “hip”, carries a gun, and likes to hang out at funeral homes and beauty parlors.

Stephanie has a creepy and crooked cousin who is also her boss.

She has a pet hamster and two hot and dangerous men competing for her attention.

Together they find themselves in some comical and treacherous situations…think explosions and guns - but like in a cartoon where it’s more funny than dangerous.

There are 29 total books (plus an additional four holiday bonus books) in this series. I started with number one back in 2008 and I highly suggest reading them in order (google it).

These books are light easy reads and really fun. The characters make me laugh. I will admit that the storylines have become somewhat repetitive at this point, but I will eventually finish the series out because I still enjoy them. This is number 20, so only 9 more to go.

Note: The first book was also made into a movie so you should check that out too. The movie wasn’t as good as the book, but it never is!
