I really enjoy medical thrillers and so wanted to like this book but unfortunately it was a little disappointing. I enjoyed the story but it seemed to move along very slowly and I felt my mind wandering at times and feel the book is a little too long. I don't mind an unlikeable character, but the surgeon, Anne, was horribly self-pitying and totally got on my nerves.

I also disliked the narrator, who sounded a little too robotic.
