As a big fan of Jonathan Sims's work on The Magnus Archives, I really wanted to like this book but I don't think the format was very successful. Each story builds tension without a strong climax and the final chapter doesn't make up for the anticipation. While the character writing is strong, it's too drawn out and the shifts from character and point of view in the final chapter are distracting. Ultimately I think this has a lot of promise but would have been better in much shorter form.
