The Last by Hanna Jameson
5.0
A random 'signed' book I picked up in a charity shop that I thought sounded kind of interesting from the blurb... turned out to be a really great read! Well, that's a bonus!
This was an interesting, fast paced, tale about the end of the world and how those left behind deal with it.
This kind of felt like that old 70s TV show on BBC "Survivors" to me. Where a small group of people struggle to carry on with their daily lefes after all is lost. Also, not really knowing how to go about it.
I really enjoyed the characters, and I found they felt real and acted in realistic ways.
The minor downside was the end resolve of the 'murdered girl' but overall very enjoyable read.
Loved the final page as well, and it kind of leaves it open-ended...
Also, I found the writting style was more liek a male author than a female, Im not sure why, it just felt kind of like a Stephen King style read, but much better pacing than King.
I am really interested in reading more by Hanna Jameson now.
A 4.5 read for me!
