Her Knight at the Museum

I definitely see the appeal in the ‘what if’ of it all, especially as someone that frequents museums.
‘What if he was human?’
‘What if I kissed this statue and he turned into a living breathing person?’
If you’ve ever been to The MET in NYC and you’ve seen those giant statues of Hercules in the Greek & Roman Art section, you might understand me when I say the thought may have crossed my mind once or twice.
I should’ve called it when she was getting turned on by this statue on the first page but alas I persisted.
I enjoyed the courtship, the initial introduction.
What I DID not like was
- how long the book was- so much of this story felt so unnecessary
- how this started to become more ‘horny virgin teenage boy obsessed with the woman who woke him’ and less ‘romancing the woman who captured his attention’
- the FBI investigating the disappearance of this statue took over so much of the storyline and I understand the importance but why was this necessary.
- the constant mention of her ex husband.
For a book published under the Berkley imprint I had much higher expectations.
