Tanya Tagaq paints a vivid portrait of teenage Northern life, seamlessly interweaving biography and fantasy. The story meanders around an incredibly compelling narrative that paints the main character as heroic and demonic at the same time... human. I will feel this book in my bones for a long time to come, her words are so visceral and alive. Tagaq's reading of the book is beyond exceptional. She adds throat singing and emotion to bring the story to life. Loved it!
