I don't even know where to start. I finished this book yesterday, but my mind has been constantly circling it around, trying to grasp just how freaking good it was! Nessa is a chronically ill bookworm who volunteered to replace her pregnant sister in the harvest of human thrills by their vampire rulers. As the only volunteer, she receives the privilege of being bound to the vampire court through blood and marriage, finding herself now onw third of a powerful ruling triad. The King of Dawn and his husband, the King of Dusk, find Nessa a breath of fresh air. However, the more they dive into their fledgling mate bond, the more twisted and deep the secrets surrounding them become.
Jules and Luc were unhinged. Plain and simple. Known far and wide as The Butcher and The Conqueror, respectively, they rule with an iron-clad fist. Nessa literally flips their world upside down and shakes every inch of their foundation. There's so much freaking spice in this one, I wanted to give Nessa an ice pack. She takes it like a champ, though, and her kings are very attentive to her every need. Honestly, the amount of care they dedicate to her, despite their warring desires to both love and hate her, only gave me a little whiplash. The ending was a Grancld Canyon-level cliff. I'm so torn on how much I want them to have their happily ever after, but I also want them to ruin each other in the most depraved way. This story was a sheer work of art, and I eagerly await a hint of what's to come!
