I don’t give five stars out easily… but this one is well deserved.
I absolutely loved the representation of disabilities, but physical and mental throughout this books. As a chronic migraine sufferer who struggles with anxiety, it was amazing to relate to a character who struggles with the same ailments as I do. I also found the idea of disabilities and how they are portrayed in the book extremely relevant to current events.
The world building? I’m a sucker for world building and I loved hearing about the different regions, what each region was known for, and how their cultures differed. The religions and ideologies were also intriguing.
I loved both of the main FMC’s - they’re both strong in their own way that can definitely compliment each other. But I’m guessing we’ll see this more in future books. I also loved seeing them growing within their struggles to learn more of their own strengths and how to overcome their problems.
Overall, this has become a favorite book and I will recommend it over and over again. K. V. Meadows is an incredibly storyteller and I was shocked to see this is her debut novel. She writes as someone who has had years of experience. I can imagine that it will only get better from here!
