Battle Ground by Jim Butcher
3.0

I have to admit, this was an unexpected low point in the series for me. This was true mostly because the vast majority of the book was just a battle, and while the first book had been great and fun build-up, this second one was much more about the logistics and dynamics of that battle in ways that were, honestly, a bit repetitive and dull. Listening to so many descriptions of how awe inspiring, awesome, or beautiful someone or something is gets old after a while when it's applied to everything.

The story itself was good as usual, and I still enjoyed it overall, but I found myself with the sense that the first half of this story, in the previous book, was vastly superior to this one.
