Caliban and the Witch: Women, the Body and Primitive Accumulation by Silvia Federici

5.0

This was the primary text for a not-for-credit 6-week intensive course I went through called The Burning Times Never Ended. It significantly influenced my understanding of the world as it is now, seeing the same tactics used in the present day by the dominant caste to prevent revolt or autonomy from the lower castes. The additions Federici's scholarship makes to Marxist critiques of capitalism are crucial.

I admit I did not read the book in its entirety, due to the sheer density of the material. I would like to tackle it a second time in the near future. Wish there were an audio book version of it but I doubt we'll ever have that available.
