The Amateurs by Liz Harmer

4.0

I found myself thinking a lot about the events in the book. The story moves at a gentle pace, and is very character driven which I enjoyed. Although the book is billed as being a sci fi there was also a literary quality to it, so worth giving a go if you are not usually a fan of this genre. The book was a successful dystopian fiction in that it managed to create a scenario very similar to our reality, so it felt very believable somehow.

A word of warning - there is an lot of ambiguity throughout this book, so you will likely end up with more questions than answers. Personally I enjoyed being left to make my own assumptions and theories as a reader, but this is something to beat in mind.
