Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty

🍎 🎾 Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty 🎾 🍎
The Delaney family is tight knit, competitive, and sometimes hate each other. When mom, Joy, goes missing, her adult children find themselves on opposite sides of whether their father is a suspect. Add in a mysterious house guest with a secret and you have yourself a thriller.
I described this book to many people as if it’s like you’re listening in on private family gossip that you know you shouldn’t be hearing but lean in to listen anyway. I tried to guess what was happening SEVERAL times and not once did I get it right. While that’s mildly frustrating it made the twist a genuine surprise.
I do feel the actual twist was somewhat disappointing, I craved more excitement. But that’s something I gotta unpack for myself. Then, as I feel it’s kinda a trend in the books I’ve read, there’s another reveal in the final chapter that I liked but felt was rushed and just for “wow” factor.
I liked this a lot and spent a lot of time with it. This book makes me want to do a few things: play tennis, visit Australia, eat an apple crumble.
