When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead

5.0

One of my favorite reads of 2016. Read it in one sitting. A middle grade book that reads like poignant adult fiction without being cloying. All of the characters were built so that you connected with their emotions and the story was mysterious, fun, and sweetly sad. A story about people trying to be good people and do good to one another, but tripping along the way. Also, references to A Wrinkle in Time upgrade any book. Wish I could have read this when I was a young girl but glad that I was able to find it now! Love love love.
