This book kept popping up as recommended for me and I put off reading it because I just wasn't sure if I'd like it. I'm glad I finally picked it up because I loved it.
I'd classify this sort of book as oddly cozy sci-fi. It's very slice of life, but also has a general overarching theme and eventual climax and conclusion. Although there were tense parts, in general I found this book relaxing.
Chambers has a way with character development and I found myself getting attached to all of them. Her world building isn't too much, but enough to be fascinating. I'm delighted this book is just one in a series and I'm looking forward to the next.
