"Grief is forever. It doesn't go away; it becoms part of you, step for step, breath for breath.... Grief and love are conjoined, you don't get one without the other"

Jandy Nelson sure does have a way with words. Since she is the author of my favorite book, I had enormous expectations going into The Sky is Everywhere. I think that it is safe to say that I was not disappointed. This book took me a long time to get into but I think that was my own doing, not related to the actual story. Nelson has a way of making you love and hate all of her characters at the same time.
Reading this book, I was able to experience grief and sadness, love and joy, and every little emotion in between. I was reminded of the fragility of life and the mess that we leave behind if we aren't careful. I was reminded of the importance of telling your own story instead of letting others tell it for you.
