Storm by Carian Cole

3.0

This was a really well written book, I read it in two sittings and had a hard time putting it down. I really liked Storm and loved how he cared for Evie. Evie on the other hand drove me bonkers for most of the book. This was probably because of the cheating which is something I usually avoid in books. This one was harder for me to get past because although Evie and Michael weren’t a good fit, he wasn’t all awful and she took too long to break up with him once she knew she was done. 80% of the book she was actively engaging in an emotional and physical affair including bringing her boyfriend around her side dude. It just makes me lose respect for the MC’s relationship moving forward and in the real life doesn’t often lead to a simple HEA.

I liked Storm and Evie together, and wish that the other relationship would have been finished earlier in the book. They weren’t even a couple until after the 90% mark and then the ending was really rushed. I love a rock star romance and Carian Cole is one of my favorite authors for books representing broken MC’s. The mental health parts of this book with Evie were appreciated, but I wish we would have gotten more insight into her struggles so I could connect more with her character development.

If you don’t mind cheating, you will probably really enjoy this read.
