I read 'First Lie Wins' by Ashley Elston in less than 24 hours and thoroughly enjoyed it. The book has a fast-paced, engaging narrative with a dual timeline that kept me hooked from beginning to end. The humour in the book was a pleasant surprise and added a lighter tone to the story's suspenseful plot. 

However, I felt that Ryan's character development was not up to par. The book doesn't provide enough insight into his motivations, and his actions remain mysterious. This lack of depth was a little frustrating, as I was eager to understand the reasons behind his decisions.
